Ethics Seminars: In an effort to inform and educate public officials and employees within the State of Alabama, the Ethics Commission offers a seminar which is held semiannually; however, if a significant number of requests are received, other seminars may be arranged. Right now, there
is one seminar scheduled for May 12, 2008 from 9:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Seminars are open to any public official/public employee at no cost, but seating is limited. To reserve a place, call 334-242-2997 and tell the receptionist you would like to register. Supervisors, please encourage, or insist, that each of your employees attend one of these seminars. We feel this is particularly a good opportunity for departments/agencies to send new employees to ensure they understand the Ethics Law. Remember, ignorance of the law is NOT a defense. We will be happy to come to your area with these seminars, but we request at least 25 attendees. Call 334-242-2997 to request a seminar for your staff.
